Who you are contracting with

Scale Scout is provided by Veianya Hansen ("we", "us", the seller). By using Scale Scout you agree to these terms and are contracting with Veianya Hansen. If you use the app on behalf of a child, you confirm you are that child's parent or guardian and are of legal age to accept these terms.

The service

Scale Scout is an educational game that helps children identify reptiles, learn facts, and build a collection. A starter set of reptiles is free; the full collection can be unlocked with a one-time purchase. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes.

Acceptable use

You must not misuse the service, including:

• using it unlawfully or for fraud or spam;
• infringing anyone's intellectual property rights;
• interfering with the service's security, probing it, scraping it, or introducing malware;
• reverse engineering, reselling, or redistributing the app or its content;
• circumventing technical limits, including the purchase unlock.

Purchases and Paddle

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Payment, billing, tax, cancellation, and refund mechanics are governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms. Our own refund terms are in our Refund Policy.

Intellectual property

We own the service and its intellectual property, including the software, design, branding, and documentation. Reptile photographs are used under their respective licences. These terms do not transfer any ownership to you.

Service availability

We work hard to keep Scale Scout available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free performance. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided "as is" and we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special damages (including loss of profits, data, or goodwill), and our total liability is capped at the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, death, or personal injury where the law does not allow it.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or end access for material breach of these terms, non-payment, security or fraud risk, or repeated or serious policy violations. Because purchases unlock content on your device, ending access may remove access to previously unlocked content.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version and continued use means you accept it. Questions about these terms can be sent through the support address shown on your Paddle receipt.
